Option 43 is designed to assist network engineer's configuring the DHCP server option 43 and option 60, which are used in deploying various wireless Lightweight Access Points (LAP).

Option 43 calculates the type-length-value (TLV) for the Lightweight Access Point.

DHCP server option 43 enables the LAPs to discover the wireless LAN controller or controllers.
DHCP servers are configured with the wireless LAN controller IP addresses in order for the access points to join the controller. Option 43 is defined in each DHCP pool or scope.

As defined by RFC 2132, the DHCP servers must return vendor specific information as DHCP Option 43.

The vendor information included in the DHCP offer as TLV blocks embedded within Option 43.

The results can be shared through Mail, Message, Twitter and AirDrop.
