Brought to you by Texthelp, Read&Write for iPad takes the essential elements of our award-winning literacy software ‘Read&Write’ and incorporates them into a simple to use keyboard. Built using the same data as the Read&Write desktop toolbar - the result of over 20 years of developing literacy solutions for millions of users. It’s comprehensive and in context, providing support beyond what iPad inbuilt features can offer.
Read&Write for iPad, working in every app, provides help everywhere it’s needed whether it ’s working on documents, presentations, being creative or just using mail. It’s great for those with individual needs such as Dyslexia and those where English is not their first language, but it’s designed for everyone. Plus with the included Safari toolbar, every web page is accessible.
For reading and writing, it provides customisable text to speech - including continuous reading and dual colour highlighting in a quick tap. Speak-as-I type lets users focus on writing skills and aids understanding as they go. Plus, sentences are displayed in the keyboard area as they are read - a great help to bring focus. The prediction feature works in context, suggesting a range of relevant words to build better sentences, and the Talk&Type feature makes it easy to put thoughts into written words, for those who may struggle with typing.
For vocabulary, there’s an easy to understand dictionary, providing not just definitions, but contextual sentences as well. There’s also a picture dictionary to help users build visual links and references. All available in a single tap and can be read aloud.
For spelling and grammar checking, users get a wide range of suggestions, including confusable words, and in a tap, these can be individually read aloud or defined with the dictionary feature.
Read&Write for iPad. A comprehensive set of tools providing enhanced literacy support and accessibility to all.
Remember - this is not an app, it’s a keyboard so please remember to set this up when you download - you’ll find an easy to follow video guide the first time you tap the Read&Write icon.
To start a free 30 day trial of all features, just sign into the app with one of the suggested email providers. After this trial period, text to speech and translator remain free forever. Read&Write for iPad premium access can also be activated through your institution/organization’s Read&Write license or through a single license.
