Live Lebanon is an initiative implemented by UNDP in partnership with Bank of Beirut and Arab Countries (BBAC) that operates as a neutral channel through which Lebanese citizens, members of the private sector, and expatriates can provide direct support to the development of Lebanon's underprivileged communities. Live Lebanon supports the implementation of environment, health, youth, and income generation local development initiatives. Designed in partnership with local municipal and civil society representatives, each project delivered through Live Lebanon is the result of both the requirements of the many communities that aim to make their lives better, and the commitment of companies and individuals who wish to help make that hope become reality. Since 2012, Live Lebanon implemented more than 38 projects, benefitting directly more than 500,000 persons and 1,250,000 indirectly. An application was developed to support Live Lebanon mobilize funds from a wide range of Lebanese expatriates spread all over the world. The application is meant to raise awareness on Live Lebanon activities and allow Lebanese individual to fund projects; thus support the realization of several socio-economic initiatives in the most deprived areas of Lebanon.
The Live Lebanon application allows users to be briefed about Live Lebanon initiative by checking the projects to be funded, the ongoing projects and the implemented ones. Also it has sections about news, goodwill ambassadors and partners.
Through the mobile application, people will be able to donate by selecting the most appealing project and choosing the amount to be donated. The latter affects the payment method for there are three: mobile operator, application and website.
The raised funds will be used to implement the projects they were allocated for through signing agreements with the partner municipalities.
