The Jordan Knights mobile application has been developed by the Special Branch of the Public Security Directorate to provide enhanced communication and coordination between the general public and the Special Branch. This application provides the general public with the ability to communicate emergencies, report crimes, and police violations directly to the Special Branch. In addition, the application provides users with the ability to make direct distress calls to the 911 Emergency Center, identify traffic congested areas, download images, and view the latest news.

This ground breaking initiative will provide a secure communication platform for the general public to work hand in hand with the Special Branch for a safer and stronger Jordan together.

The most important feature, is the SOS emergency, which when activated, the application starts notifying the headquarters with the location (if available) of the phone. Even in background mode. once you slide the SOS hexagon far from the original place and release it, the application will enter emergency mode, sending your location (make sure that the location service is on) along with other info to the Jordan Security service. This way Jordan Knights can summon rescue specialists, after confirmation, knowing the place of the victim, and his movements. The user can always activate the emergency mode, and send the application to the background, to reduce the possibility that the aggressor notices the app. After the user activates the emergency mode, the user should give a call to the headquarters, to tell them the kind of emergency. And during the call, the application doesn't lose the location data.

"Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life."
