Store review

This app lets you keep time with a cool, customizable, polar clock. Note: Sony
does not give developers a way to completely replace their built-in clock
faces with a custom clock face so this clock runs as an app and takes over
managing screen dimming functions to save the battery. Basically, you start
the app and then, since you stay in the app, the Polar Clock watch face is
always available. It is highly reccommended to use the "Sort Applications"
function of the SmartWatch manager to place Polar Clock as the first app in
the list to make access convienient in the event you leave the app.

Display Control

After starting the app, tap on the screen to cycle between full brightness,
half brightness, and display off. Swiping down will immediately turn off the
display. While off, taping on the screen will wake the display back up and
Polar Clock will still be running.

Auto-Dim

After starting the app, look in the lower right corner. If you see a small
white dot, this means Polar Clock has disabled the watch's auto-dim function.
The will cause Polar Clock to be visible at all times. This will impact
battery life. Swipe right to toggle this on and off. The impact on your
battery can be minimized by using the tap feature to set the screen to half
brightness. When the dot is gone, Polar Clock will automatically dim the
screen after 10 seconds, then turn it off after another 10 seconds.

Day and Month

Swipe left to toggle a day and month display in the lower left corner.

Leaving the app

If you want to quit Polar Clock and return to normal functionality, you can
swipe up (or use Sony's reverse-pinch) to leave the app.

Customization

Be sure to check the app preferences page in the SmartWatch manager software.
There you can change colors, and set various parameters for Polar Clock.
Setting preferences using the swipe functions on the watch are only temporary
and will be lost if Polar Clock quits. Setting them in the preferences makes
your changes stick.

Performance Note

Like all apps for the Sony SmartWatch, the GUI display is actually rendered on
your phone and then is sent to the watch. If your phone is asleep (screen
off), rendering speed is reduced due to your phone's CPU being in a slower
power-saving mode. You might notice that Polar Clock goes 2 or 3 seconds
between updating the seconds hand. This is normal. When your phone is not
sleeping, the seconds hand will be real-time.
