Every language is built of units called words which form the basis of proficiency in the language, and English is no exception. Vocabulary means lots and lots of words in English. Exams, such as GRE, GMAT, SAT, TOEFL etc., treat English vocabulary as an essential building block of English language's proficiency which a student has to be equipped with before heading for the education in any global institution.
We have identified 4900+ English words that are most important to know, for GRE, GMAT, SAT and TOEFL test takers. Our questions are developed using generic quotes and daily used sentences which serve as a basic test of your vocabulary. They are not intended to provide you any type of simulation for any test (GRE, GMAT, SAT, TOEFL).These basic questions help you in boosting your morale and confidence related to your vocabulary knowledge which you can then use to take official tests or test simulations provided by the experts anywhere else.
Testing:
This application provides the lucid interface for learning and testing. We have numerous practice questions arranged into tests (GRE, GMAT, SAT, TOEFL). Tests are flexible in the sense that you can create your own tests. You can stop the test anytime, having any number of questions. Each test has a score card at the end. Wordstock also gives you a chance to go to the history of your tests and look at your performance including the words that answered correctly or incorrectly. Use the menu on the left to get more information about the test and learning sections.
Learning Statistics:
Wordstock appropriately conducts the quantitative analysis of tests into graphs. For example, pie-chart of growth. This record of progress over time also provides strong motivation to set goals for future learning
Special Learning Tactics:
People are different and so are their ways of learning. For example, a visual person learns through images depicting the word in some sense. Wordstock provides cards defining these high- frequency words (targeting GRE, GMAT, SAT, TOEFL) in detail together with related mnemonics, images and machine voice reading.
Mnemonics:
Mnemonics are "connect to-be-remembered" meaning of words with a systematic and organized set of images or words that are already firmly established in long-term memory and can, therefore, serve as reminder cues which especially serve as a quick learning pill for these exams (GRE, GMAT, SAT, TOEFL).
