This application is a multimedia support for your visit. Thanks to Bluetooth technology we transform your smartphone into an easy complete guide.
The Italian National ‘Risorgimento’ Museum is the oldest and best known museum dealing with the history of the resurgence of the Italian state and the only one considered, ‘National’.
Founded in 1878, after the death of Vittorio Emanuele II, the museum was first placed in the ‘Mole Antonelliana’, one of the most important architectural features of Torino. Since 1938, it has been housed in Palazzo Carignano, which is recognized as a Unesco national site.
Completely redesigned in 2011, for the celebrations of Italian Unity, the museum tells the story of the ‘Risorgimento’, from a European point of view. It follows an exhibition timeline through 30 rooms, which unfolds through the great revolutions of the 1700s right up to the eve of the First World War
Pausing in the middle of this historical journey through the museum, it is possible to visit the House of the subalpine parliament. Dating from 1848, it is the only parliament building still intact in Europe and was destined to become parliament house for the Kingdom of Italy.
