The Islamic, Muslim or Hijri calendar is a lunar calendar consisting of 12 months in a year of 354 or 355 days. The Hijri year or era is the era used in the Islamic lunar calendar, which begins its count from the Islamic New Year in 622 AD. During that year, Muhammad and his followers migrated from Mecca to Yathrib(now Medina). This event, known as the Hijra, is commemorated in Islam for its role in the founding of the first Muslim community (ummah). Each month of the Islamic calendar commences on the birth of the new lunar cycle.
The app let you view Hijri and Gregorian date simultaneously on different screens. You can swap between Hijri and Gregorian date is today. You can view previous and coming month calendar with the forward and back button. Forward and back button feature is available for both Hijri and English calendar.
The app is supported with a two beautiful Hijri calendar widget. One small and one big. The widget show current Islamic date and day name. The widget also support forward and back button feature.
The days names supported by the app are Islamic ( al-Aḥad (Sunday) al-Ithnayn (Monday) ath-Thulāthā’ (Tuesday) al-Arba‘ā ’(Wednesday) al-Khamīs (Thursday) al-Jum‘ah (Friday) as-Sabt(Saterday)) for Hijri calendar.
The months names supported by the app are Islamic which are Muḥarram, Safar, Rabī‘ al-awwal, Rabī‘ ath-thānī, Jumādá al-ūlá, Jumādá al-ākhirah, Rajab, Sha‘bān, Ramaḍān, Shawwāl, Dhū al-Qa‘dah, Dhū al-Ḥijjah.
