What is ICM?
ICM (Independent Chip Model) calculation is used in Poker tournaments to determine the expected win amount with a given chip count.
ICM is calculated by evaluating each Players chances to finish in the money depending on their chip count.
How to use ICM
A common use for ICM is near the end of a tournament to fairly distribute the prize pool if the players agree to chop.
For example if the chip leader currently has half the chips available in front of him, it does not mean he would receive half of the price pool when using the ICM calculation. This is because in reality his odds of finishing in 1st place are not 50% (with 3 Players remaining for example it would actually be 38.33%).
The Poker ICM Calculator includes options to save templates for quick retrieval when needed. Results can be displayed in a Pie Chart for a visual overview of the prize pool distribution.
