Apple’s FCP X 10.4 is finally here, and it’s packed with some great new features: 360º VR video editing, advanced color correction tools, new codecs (including the new HEVC video format introduced in macOS High Sierra and iOS 11), and more. This course, by FCP X expert Iain Anderson, covers all of them and shows you how to integrate them into your video editing workflow.
Iain begins the course by looking at one of the main new features of FCP X version 10.4: 360 VR video editing. You learn about the challenges of working with 360 video, and the tools available in FCP X to deal with those. You also discover the brand new correction methods, such as Color Wheels, Color Curves, and the HUE/Saturation curves. Next, Iain explains why Look-Up Tables (or LUTs) are more than color correction tools, and how you can use them creatively. Other changes in FCP X, such as High Dynamic Range support, the new HEVC (aka H.265) codec, iMovie for iOS compatibility and the new redesigned Logic audio plug-ins are also covered.
